Fire Inspector I or II
Fire Inspector I - Under direct supervision, the Fire Inspector I performs duties that would be assigned to a Basic Fire Inspector, Fire Safety Education Officer, or Fire Investigator. The Fire Inspector I is responsible for assisting the Fire Marshal in the day-to-day operation of the Fire Marshal’s office.

Fire Inspector II - Under general supervision, the Fire Inspector II performs duties that would be assigned to an Intermediate Fire Inspector, Fire/Arson Investigator, Fire Safety Education Officer, Fire Prevention Officer, Fire Protection Engineer, and/or Plan Review Specialist. The Fire Inspector II is responsible for assisting the Fire Marshal in the day-to-day operation of the Fire Marshal’s office.

Deputy Fire Marshal
Under general supervision of the Fire Marshal, the Deputy Fire Marshal will provide technical assistance in the prevention of fires through public education, conducting commercial fire inspections, acceptance tests of fire protection systems, inspections of annually permitted occupancies and requested residential properties to ensure compliance with the Grayson County Fire Code. This position will review plan submittals for new construction, issue permits and certificates of compliance.

Fire Marshal
Under direction of the Hays County Emergency Services Director, the Fire Marshal performs advanced level protective service work in fire prevention, fire safety inspection, code enforcement and fire/explosives investigation. This position is responsible for highly complex, more sensitive matters and serves as an expert in area(s) of specialty. Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the activities of the fire/arson investigators and the fire inspectors/code enforcement officers within the office.

Fire Inspector (Part-Time)
The duties of this position are to conduct life safety inspections in all commercial buildings and enforce compliance with the uniform fire and city codes. In addition, the Fire Inspector must communicate effectively, enforce fire codes and regulations, and use the maintenance record system effectively.

Fire Marshal
The Mexia Fire Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Marshal to join our leadership team. This critical role supports the Department in overseeing fire prevention, code enforcement, fire investigations, fire inspections, and public education programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for community safety.

Deputy Fire Marshal
The Deputy Fire Marshal is responsible for managing and directing fire cause/origin and arson investigations for the Fire Marshal's Office (FMO). The position is also responsible for the enforcement of fire code through the performance of life safety code inspections and plans review in commercial occupancies. Occasionally perform residential life safety inspections and home care inspections. Participates in public education and fire prevention activities as assigned. Assists the Fire Marshal in the performance of professional standards investigations and background investigations within the Fire Department. Manages inspection data and associated reports. Assists the Fire Marshal in other prevention functions as needed.

Fire Inspector (Part Time)
The City of Wylie Fire Department is accepting applications for one (1) Part-Time Fire Prevention Inspector position. This role supports the Fire Prevention Division through inspection activities, public education, and assistance with emergency management functions.

The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Division Chief – Fire Marshal and will primarily conduct fire and life safety inspections in accordance with applicable codes and department policies. This position does not include fire investigations.
