

Fire Marshal
The Fire Marshal helps safeguard the life and property of Rockwall County citizens through enforcement of the adopted Fire Code and applicable statutes related to fire, explosives, and other hazardous materials. Key responsibilities include review and inspection of structures, alarm & sprinkler systems, fire lanes, and fire hydrants to ensure they meet regulatory safety standards. The Fire Marshal will also play a primary role in investigating fires within the County, as well as public education and awareness of fire safety.

President and CEO
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NFPA is responsible for leadership, direction and overall management of the organization, providing leadership and strategic direction toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives. The CEO serves as the Chair of the NFPA Fire Protection Research Foundation as well as the Global Solutions Board and is an ex-officio member of the NFPA Board of Directors. The CEO will inclusively manage, recruit and motivate a high-performing staff while managing the organization’s resources and overall operations according to best business practices.

Fire Inspector
Under minimal supervision, this entry-level part-time Fire Inspector position is consistent with duties that would be assigned to a Fire Prevention Officer, Fire Inspector, Fire Protection Engineer, Fire Safety Education Officer, or Fire Investigator within the scope of the employees training. At the direction of the Fire Marshal, this position will also assist with fire safety education and public relations programs and conduct and/or assist with fire inspections and fire investigations as assigned.

Fire Inspector
Under the direct supervision of the Fire Marshal, employee is responsible for performing such tasks as inspections, enforcing the City of The Colony ordinances, and conducting and assisting in fire investigations. Investigates routine complaints of fire/life safety hazards, incidents, and investigations of The Colony Fire Department. The position will be involved in varying degrees with public education, public relations, record keeping, and report writing.

Fire Inspector
The Fire Inspector will provide a high-quality of consistent service to the engineering, architectural, construction community, building and business owners, and other citizens through comprehensive inspections through enforcement, interpretation, and application of fire codes, building codes, state regulations, special use permit requirements, operational permit requirements, and other County ordinances. The Fire Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with the County’s adopted fire code through a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to, the inspection of existing and new occupancies, the inspection of fire protection systems, and assisting with other fire code enforcement activities.


Deputy Fire Marshal
Under the direction of the Fire Marshal, this position is accountable for assisting nuisance/abatement as outlined H&SC Chapter 341 and 343 and fire investigations as required by VCS Art. 1606C as well as training of County employees and citizens involved in all four phases of emergency management. Patrols unincorporated areas and enforces applicable state and local laws to prevent illegal dumping, littering, the accumulation of refuse and junk near public highways, the regulations of sight distances along County roads, and public nuisances. Ensures environmental safety in unincorporated areas, and other areas throughout Dallas County when requested by city or state agencies.
