Join us for an in-depth seminar covering the hazardous materials provisions found in the 2021 International Fire Code (IFC) and International Building Code (IBC). This training will explore key requirements for facilities utilizing hazardous materials, with a focus on the critical coordination between fire and building code applications during plan review, inspections, and enforcement. Attendees will also receive an overview of significant hazardous materials-related updates included in the 2024 IFC.
We are excited to welcome Terrell Stripling back as this year’s instructor. Terrell brings extensive knowledge and real-world experience in hazardous materials code application and has become a valued resource for many of our members across North Texas.

Basic Fire Investigator Class
Sept. 15 - Nov. 11, 2026 | Collin College Fire Academy | McKinney, Texas
Introduction to the investigation of fires and explosions of known and unknown origin, including investigative techniques, collection and preservation of evidence, case preparation and presentation, point-of-origin, and arson law. Upon successful completion of this course, students will take the state certification exam for Fire Investigator.

ICS 300 | 21 hours
The goal of this professional development course, ICS 300 Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents, is to provide training on and resources for overall incident management skills for personnel who require intermediate application of the Incident Command System (ICS).
ICS 400 | 15 hours
ICS400 is intended for an audience of experienced responders and other senior emergency management personnel who may perform in a management capacity for major or complex incidents (Type 1 or Type 2 incidents). Large and complex incidents that require the application of area command don’t happen often. Although this is an advanced ICS course, it is not intended to develop mastery of area command. The purpose of this course is to expose students to the concepts of utilizing area command in major and complex incidents.

Best Practices in Community Risk Reduction
November 3 & 4, 2026 | Frisco, Texas
This course demonstrates to students nationally recognized principles that, when used appropriately, can lead to community risk reduction programs that can measure success in local communities. This course will give students the opportunity to explore programs from communities across the U.S. that have been showcased at Vision 20/20 symposiums.
These programs demonstrate what nationally recognized organizations identify as examples of “best practices” in community risk reduction.

We’ll also share a brief update on the state of the association and highlight priorities and opportunities ahead as we look toward FPANT’s 40th anniversary year.

F.P.A.N.T. / SFPE Half-Day Training & December Association Meeting

FPANT and the DFW Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers are partnering to present a special half-day training focused on high-piled combustible storage and the challenges surrounding these occupancies. This session will provide attendees with practical insight into planning, system design, construction, and code compliance considerations.
Attendees will hear perspectives from AHJs, fire protection professionals, and fire protection engineers, helping provide a broader understanding of how these projects move from concept to compliance in the real world.
