ICS 300 & ICS 400 | 4-Day Class

ICS 300 | 21 hours
The goal of this professional development course, ICS 300 Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents, is to provide training on and resources for overall incident management skills for personnel who require intermediate application of the Incident Command System (ICS).
ICS 400 | 15 hours
ICS400 is intended for an audience of experienced responders and other senior emergency management personnel who may perform in a management capacity for major or complex incidents (Type 1 or Type 2 incidents). Large and complex incidents that require the application of area command don’t happen often. Although this is an advanced ICS course, it is not intended to develop mastery of area command. The purpose of this course is to expose students to the concepts of utilizing area command in major and complex incidents.

Best Practices in Community Risk Reduction
November 3 & 4, 2026 | Frisco, Texas
This course demonstrates to students nationally recognized principles that, when used appropriately, can lead to community risk reduction programs that can measure success in local communities. This course will give students the opportunity to explore programs from communities across the U.S. that have been showcased at Vision 20/20 symposiums.
These programs demonstrate what nationally recognized organizations identify as examples of “best practices” in community risk reduction.

Fire Round Table Discussion & Expo

Join the North Texas Alarm Association (NTAA) for an afternoon of collaboration, discussion, and networking between fire alarm industry professionals and local and state Fire Marshals.
Featuring FPANT members and Fire Marshals, this interactive roundtable will explore fire codes, industry challenges, and issues impacting fire protection across North Texas. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, exchange perspectives, and build stronger relationships between industry professionals and AHJs.
The event will also feature a Fire Alarm Expo showcasing industry products and solutions.

F.P.A.N.T. / SFPE Half-Day Training & December Association Meeting
December 9, 2026 | 8:00AM - 1:00PM | Carrollton, TX
FPANT is partnering with the Society of Fire Protection Engineers – DFW Chapter for a half-day training designed to bring fire code officials and fire protection engineers together around some of the challenges AHJs are encountering in today’s increasingly complex buildings and storage facilities.
The training will take a practical look at high-piled combustible storage, commodity classifications, storage arrangements, sprinkler protection, permitting, ASRS systems, and changing conditions in the field. Attendees will also explore the role of the Fire Protection Engineer, the importance of properly documented and engineered designs, and how AHJs and FPEs can work together when actual conditions no longer match what was originally approved.
The focus isn’t on turning inspectors into engineers; it’s on helping AHJs know what to look for, what questions to ask, what to document, and when additional engineering evaluation is needed.
4 CE hours will be issued for this training

As an International Code Council (ICC) Chapter, FPANT is proud to host our annual full-day training in partnership with the ICC. This signature training brings high-quality, code-focused education to North Texas, giving fire prevention professionals an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, stay current on codes and standards, and learn from experienced ICC instructors.
Previous annual training topics have included Significant Changes from the 2021 IFC to the 2024 IFC and Hazardous Materials Provisions in the 2021 IFC & IBC.

National Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week™ is observed each October and serves as a nationwide opportunity to raise awareness about fire safety and provide communities with practical information that can help prevent fires, injuries, and loss of life.
Throughout the week, fire departments, fire prevention professionals, educators, and community organizations across North Texas and the country will engage their communities through public education, outreach, school programs, demonstrations, and other fire and life safety activities.
