Fires in buildings under construction remain a serious challenge across the country, particularly in the multifamily sector. While traditional suppression efforts are essential, new tools are being developed to proactively reduce ignition risk before a fire starts.
 

Join us for a unique opportunity to learn from fire service leaders and construction experts as we explore the use of non-toxic fire inhibitors in active construction zones. This training will include a side-by-side live fire demonstration comparing treated and untreated structures, offering real-time insight into how new prevention methods are being used to support fire protection efforts.

Presenters:

​

Silvio Lanzas is the Chief of Operations at MFIRE Suppression and a retired Fire Chief and Deputy City Manager for the City of Glendale. With over 30 years in the fire service, including 25 years with CAL FIRE, Silvio brings extensive leadership experience in fire suppression, technical rescue, and wildfire response. He continues to serve on multiple fire service boards and advisory councils.

Nathaniel Mena, Vice President at MFIRE Suppression, brings a strong background in construction operations, having managed more than 400 projects nationwide. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Nathaniel has played a key role in the development of MFIRE’s safety protocols and QAQC programs, working closely with developers and municipalities to integrate fire prevention tools during high-risk build phases.
