This Discussion Series will feature important updates from several state agencies. Representatives from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS), the DPS Crime Lab, and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) — including both the Daycare Division and the Long-Term Care Division — will share current priorities, upcoming changes, and essential information for fire inspectors and prevention professionals.
Afternoon session will be a "Beyond the Tag" training class. This session is designed to help inspectors expand their knowledge and skill set when it comes to fire protection systems. Rather than simply stopping at the inspection tag.

This month's meeting and training topic will focus on Community Risk Reduction (CRR) and Public Education, featuring presentations by Wendi Kimpton (Farmers Branch FD) and Sylvia Peace (Greenville FD).
With Fire Prevention Week approaching in October, this session will highlight key strategies, resources, and updates to help departments strengthen their CRR efforts and public safety programs. Attendees will gain valuable insights into outreach, education initiatives, and upcoming trends in CRR and Public Education.
