About the Class

This two-day, interactive course provides fire inspectors, plan reviewers, and code officials with the tools to confidently evaluate and verify residential fire sprinkler system designs. Attendees will dive deep into the most current standards — NFPA 13, 13D, 13R, and IRC P2904 — and walk through sample plan reviews using real product specs and manufacturer data.

Expect hands-on activities, technical insights, and practical guidance to help you review residential sprinkler plans with clarity and confidence.

What You’ll Learn
 

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

• Identify applicable sprinkler installation standards across occupancy types

• Evaluate water supply components and system layout for compliance

• Analyze sprinkler placement, omissions, and system hydraulics

• Verify prescriptive design worksheets using IRC P2904

• Confidently review residential sprinkler plans for code compliance

This training meets NFA standards and qualifies for 1.2 CEUs and 2 hours of ACE credit in fire science or fire prevention.
